My "green" school

In my school, there's a group of people that turn up to this eco-schools meeting. we sit around and don't make many plans, and whenever someone comes up with a good idea we apparantly don't have the funding.

Yeah, that's coz the headmaster spent it on a new glass table for his office, all the teachers are leaving and the "main issue" is apparantly still the uniform.

AM I GOING COMPLETLY INSANE

well maybe.. but at least i'm trying to do something... i just get really annoyed when people complainand make a plan yet don't do a single thing!

Any of your schools like that? or it it just mine??

Nowadays you become popular if you are talking nice words about the environment. (It includes politicians) But doing something is a completely other chapter...

You could organize a clean up of the area and get sponsorship then from a local supermarket, take some photos of some of their plastic bags littered, or cans and guilt them into sponsorship.
There are organisations that will fund your ideas, and it sounds to me it is up to the students to research and find them, even a local lions club might help you
your next meeting should be only about looking for sponsorship and nothing else!!!!

our school also went up the same situation. what our adviser did first was to ask financial support from another local school org/association, for funds, and to other people whom we know could help and of letting them know the essence of the project.
maybe you could start some other activities that need not to much fund..hMmm.
and does the problem in your school not discussed and resolved yet? I think the other staff of the school need to act about that, so you could start a very well plan and make it into action..

Our school SRC *mutter mutter mutter* claims to be environmentally friendly, and sure we may have school clean up days - once a year - and native trees (woot!) BUT WE HAVE NO RECYCLING BINS. Hence my username.

My old school's worse.I wish my old school has this Eco-Club which deals with any issues related to the environment.We have the funding but there's something wrong with the teacher's (I wish they'd forgive me).All the pupils are smart too and are enthusiastic but our problem is the teacher's.

Totally agree. Why do all the politicians say they're gonna do something and don't? they have all that money all they have to do is give it to someone else who will ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING!

That's a great idea. To raise awareness i'm tryin to build an eco-site, where everyone can see what we're doin and how to help, but i'm a bit stuck for ideas, and i can't make dreamweaver work lol.

Know what u mean about the teachers, it's like they're wose than us! Well most are okay, it's just thoes higher up that are missing the important things.
